For more then 100 years Children’s Hospital has been treating children using the highest standards in both medical practice and medical technology and as a result, has earned a reputation as one of the finest children’s hospitals in the country. Children’s Hospital of Michigan was recently selected as the best Children's Hospital in Michigan by US News and World report (July 2004) and was ranked as the 6th best Children's Hospital in the country by Child Maga.
Children's Hospital of Michigan is the third oldest children's hospital in the nation and the only free standing children's hospital in the state of Michigan.
The hospital was founded in 1886 by several physicians and a group of women who saw the need for better medical care for children in urban Detroit. It provided care to children regardless of race, religion or ability to pay.
Children's Hospital of Michigan has been fulfilling its mission ever since and has grown in ways it founders would have never imagined. We at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, have made a significant impact on the world of pediatric medicine and will continue to do so in the future.
